I’ve been working on “Wuthering Heights” for about 5 months now. I’m finally making progress, though.
I don’t think I could choose just one song. I can tell you the songs I’ve listened to on repeat recently have been “Again, Again” by Lady Gaga, “Bloodbuzz Ohio” by the National “Little Lyin’ Man” by Mumford & Sons and “Ridin’ in my Car” by She & Him. Oh, and I’ve re-discovered “The Last Song” by All-American Rejects.
Yeah, I’m going to pass on choosing one song. I had a friend one time who killed a lot of songs for me by playing one song on repeat for months…
This is a complicated question. Yes, I was “let go” but I’m not sure you can say I was “fired.” It was at a restaurant in and I wasn’t given a reason for being terminated, although I suppose the new manager could’ve had a reason. Either way, it was just a restaurant and he let go a bunch of other people before me because he wanted to work with his friends. So I suppose that’s the case there. I was also “let go” once because my job was being replaced by an intern who would work for free.
So short answer: no, I have never been fired.
Jack didn’t understand the ending.

The writer must be in it; he can’t be to one side of it, ever. He has to be endangered by it. His own attitudes have to be tested in it. The best work that anybody ever writes is the work that is on the verge of embarrassing him, always. — Arthur Miller
